Boiler barrel repair welding in Lincoln – The home of the best boilermakers since 1805
An ongoing major boiler overhaul received the next part of its puzzle today. A bottom 3rd was welded into the boiler barrel by our coded welder. The original had pitted very badly in the bottom whereas the top half was still in good condition. The owner decided to opt for a repair in the bottom.
The next major part to be removed and replaced with new is the throat plate.
Once the repair has been completed, the joint will be inspected using non-destructive testing techniques to ensure that the repair has been performed correctly and that the joint meets the required safety standards.
