We enjoy bringing a sleeping engine back to life. This engine is an 1884 Simpson Denison launch engine in a Simpson Strickland boat. It was its first run in many years with a check over and run before a fully clean.

JE&T can complete any work from a new set of tubes to a full boiler restoration, any weld repairs carried out by our coded welder.

Each job is tailored to your specific requirements. We appreciate some owners want a send and forget service, whilst others want to be involved as much as possible. Our experience allows us allow you to determine the workscope based on time, your skillset and cost.

We use traditional techniques where possible including flanging of plates. This set of belly tanks has one piece ends, flanged by ourselves along with a the top and bottom wrappers made in one piece just as they came out of the factory when new.

Every item is given the same attention to detail to the level agreed when the work is started. Fittings can be brought back to various levels, either as new, or left clean but with some patina. Once cleaned all packings are replaced and any machining/lapping can be taken completed.

We have a couple of local painters who have completed some prestigious work that we bring in to complete anything from a touch up to a full repaint. We have the ability to sandblast any size of component to give the best possible base for paint work.
